Get The Look: Velvet Vixen Vibes

Happy Weekend, bbs! 🥂

As the weather continues to chill out ––literally–– the opportunity to slay in your warmest winter wear only gets more crucial.💯 So to help you keep it hot this holiday season, I'm sharing the scoop on where to get pieces to flaunt one of winter's most wearable fabrics: velvet.

Aside from being one of the best fabrics to touch for daysssss, velvet is a forgiving texture that adds an instant touch of luxe to any ensemble. Classing up every outfit you can imagine with a splash of smoothness is easier than you think. Don't believe me? I got some tips, sis!

1. Keep it cheap, but classy. While even the most affordable velvet pieces can make you look like a bag of money, beware of pieces that look as cheap as they are. When shopping online, avoid crushed velvet options and use customer reviews to guarantee you get velvet that's worth it.
2. Take care. In order to keep your velvet pieces looking lovely longterm, be sure to peep the care instructions on your garment. If it calls for dry cleaning, get it done, bae!
3. Make it memorable. Velvet blazers are on the rise, but that doesn't mean you can't pick a more unusual piece. Opt for more untraditional velvet garments like trousers, bodysuits and even shoes to stand out in this season's most beloved fabric.

If you're looking to stay on the saucy side of the velvet wave, I'd recommend getting fitted in a velvet bodycon dress. With winter-friendly long sleeves, a pop of holiday color and a short and sweet hemline, a velvet dress is bound to become your favorite. Not sure where to scoop one? Lemme help with a few recommendations:

Black Velvet Knot Front Dress - $38 - Pretty Little Thing
Mock Neck Velvet Mesh Dress - $32 - AKIRA
Velvet Shadow Stripe Dress - $14 - Forever21
